Basically, have a plan...

"Hardware firewalls are no different from other implements of technology.  They have limited lifetimes and sooner or later they have to be replaced. Making the transition from one firewall to another is at the least a nuisance, and at worst a security risk."

"Stop looking around and waiting for the next person to get laid off. Take control of your own destiny. Work hard and bring more value to your current position. There are many opportunities now to stand out, become more visible, and even fly into a promotion despite the economy. All you have to do is take initiative, and technology can help."

"2009 has indeed been the year of social networks like Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn. But some say that social networking at work has become too costly in terms of lost productivity and too risky from a security standpoint. Is it time for a complete ban on social networking in the office, or are guidelines and productivity goals a better solution?"

Best malware solution...I agree that MSE is and will be the best blacklist solution...MS knows Windows better than anyone. All other such vendors should throw in the towel and move to a new market (i.e., creating a consumer whitelist solution with true security in mind) and only than can we put this issue to rest!

Huh?

"Is Linux just too quiet to attract mainstream users who are used to the siren songs of bells and whistles? Or do Linux bells and whistles run on a frequency Windows users can't hear? 'One person's 'bells and whistles' are another person's 'this is too different for me' impediment,' suggested Slashdot blogger Barbara Hudson. For example, 'the desktop cube just blows [Windows users] away.'"

Isn’t it curious there are consistently over 1200 users in the Ubuntu IRC channel (#ubuntu) and around 300 in Windows (##windows), yet Windows has 90+% of the market share, and battles 100% of the malware...wouldn’t you think this backwards if there were so many issues and Windows sucked so bad? It seems the more knowledgeable computer users (Linux) need more help with their stuff...is it really that much more difficult to do less w/Linux, what am I missing?

What a challenge this will become...

"Security firm Lookout began testing security software for phones running the Windows Mobile and Android operating systems, and it will soon introduce security applications for the BlackBerry and iPhone. The software protects phones against rogue programs and gives phone owners the ability to remotely back up and erase the data on their phones."
