"Netgear is officially the first networking company with an 802.11ac Wi-Fi router, the company announced Thursday. The R6300, which will debut in May, will reportedly run up to 1.3Gbps on the 5GHz band, which makes it (theoretically) more than twice as fast as current 802.11n routers."

"Next year, workers will start digging a 1.7-mile tunnel underneath downtown Seattle using the world’s largest tunnel-boring machine. The 57.5-foot-diameter, $80-million drill, which is currently under construction for the State Route 99 project, has about 600 cutting tools—steel bits and spinning disks on the borer’s face that break up dirt and rock. The tools may need to be inspected as often as every 400 feet, or about 20 times over the course of construction."

You can run but it's getting harder to hide...Shoud we be concerned that the state continues to add data points and grow its information store of citizens?
"New biometric software will allow the officers to confirm an inmate’s identity just by having him or her pass in front of a camera, which takes 3-D snapshots of the individual’s face, each consisting of 40,000 data points, according to an article from Government Technology. Those images are then compared against a database to register a match."
