"The internet will soon be sailing in very rough seas, as it's about to run out of addresses, needing to be gutted and reconfigured for continued growth in the second half of the 2010s and beyond. Originally, the idea was that this upgrade would happen quietly in the background, but over the past few years, it has become clear that the change from the current Internet Protocol version 4, which is quickly running out of addresses, to the new version 6 will be quite a messy affair."

And "they" said your online activity had no consequence...Didn't you see this coming?
"Following the current trend lines, very soon social networking spiders and predictive analytics engines will be working night and day scanning the Internet and using that data to predict what every employee is likely to do in the future. This capability will simply be baked right in to HR software suites...When the software decides that you're going to quit, steal company secrets, break the law, post something indecent on a social network or lie on your expense report, the supervising manager will be notified and action will be taken -- before you make the predicted transgression."

"In the mobile world, data is becoming a precious commodity. More consumers and business users are leveraging faster networks and feature-rich smartphones to take advantage of a multitude of applications. As the demand for and usage of data grows, mobile operators are finding it increasingly challenging to cash in on escalating usage. That's where mobile data intelligence comes into the picture."

The pain of compliance...
"For consumers, experts recommend using two browsers: an up-to-date browser for everyday use and a locked-down browser -- preferably running in a virtual machine -- to go to specific sensitive sites, such as online banks. Mozilla Firefox with the NoScript plug-in is a popular choice. However, most companies would find it difficult to mandate such a policy, let alone enforce it"

Social networks importance will influence the choice for future employees! Data points ignored today will be key for tomorrows identified trends...this is why Google scares me with the amount of data they accumulate and what they or others (i.e., governments) may use it for in the future. Who’s persuading who? It very clear...you can run, but you can't hide!
