"No company wants to be the subject of the next headline
about a cybersecurity attack or critical data loss. Losing business
data or customer information takes a toll on your business'
reputation and its pocketbook. While it is impossible to entirely
avoid an attack, there are steps you can take to mitigate the
effects."

designed specifically to carry a directed-energy weapon. That
payload, expected to be operational soon, will be able to disrupt,
shut down, spoof or damage electrical systems, but little has been
revealed about the project."

"The worm is making the rounds now, and detection of the
malicious file that's being used to drop the malware on victims'
machines is quite low. Researchers at CSIS in Denmark analyzed the
worm's behavior and found that it appears to be using stolen
Facebook credentials to log in to user accounts. It then sends out
messages to the victim's Facebook friends with a link that's
supposedly to a photo file."

"The PROTECT IP Act (PIPA) is the evil step-sister of the
Stop Online Piracy Act (SOPA), the much-criticized Internet
blacklist bill introduced in the House last month. They’ve got a lot
in common — both bills would allow the government and private
rightsholders to censor the Internet for Americans, and both bills
have faced strong opposition from regular citizens, business
leaders, and public interest groups."

"Printers can be remotely controlled by computer
criminals
over the Internet, with the potential to steal personal
information, attack otherwise secure networks and even cause
physical damage, the researchers argue in a vulnerability
warning
first reported by msnbc.com. They say there's no easy fix for
the
flaw they’ve identified in some Hewlett-Packard LaserJet
printer
lines – and perhaps on other firms’ printers, too – and
there's no
way to tell if hackers have already exploited it."
